Street Lights (Series)
DESCRIPTION
These street portraits were taken with the subjects’ consent on Main Street in the heart of downtown Hartford, Connecticut (U.S.). Hartford is the capital of the State; it is also the largest and poorest municipality in the State. The people in these photographs were indeed “Street Lights” that drew me to them for varying reasons. The young mother in the second photo, “Mom with a Warning Label,” was wearing a top emblazoned with the sentence: “I’m the girl your mother warned you about.” The man on crutches seems to imply some sustained damage. The man on the motorcycle in the third photo here seemed made for his powerful vintage vehicle and vice versa. It was difficult for me to leave out other street stars here.
