Bogra, an area in the North of Bangladesh, is known for its cultivation of the red chili peppers. The peppers are every year harvested in April after which they are sundried out in the open. Once dried the ladies of the village are sorting out the peppers by sitting in the field and select the peppers by hand.

My name is Steven and I am Dutch, but I have worked for years in Bangladesh.
The country is amazing, despite the negative attention it often receives in the media.
I have travelled extensively through the country, and decided to show the reality, but in a way that it empowers the people in my pictures.
