The story behind the picture is that I just had started with photography and was shooting with my ex-partner's camera. I was taking pictures of him outside the train in Sri Lanka from Kandy to Hatton and eventually took a picture with this beautiful woman in it. But we only realised that she was staring into the camera when we look at the pictures on the laptop. This and that it was one of my first ever pictures makes it very special for me and the depth of her look just lets you get lost in time and space.
I had been in Sri Lanka before but because I decided to stay longer in India I had to get my visa renewed and therefore we flew to Sri Lanka and I was able to take this amazing shot. These very first pictures were why I kept up with photography because it made me realise that I have an eye for it even though this one was a surprise.
