            Grizzly Country (Single)

                DESCRIPTION

I photographed this grizzly alongside the Trans-Canada Highway 16 North of Jasper. Talbot Lake, and behind it Mt. Emir illuminated by the setting sun, form the dramatic backdrop to the scene. I parked well ahead of the grizzly and remained stationary in my vehicle as this magnificent animal continued foraging and eventually passed by. The bear showed no sign of aggression. I had to take the picture with the camera handheld, and I used both a polarizer and a graduated ND filter. There is something about the proximity of wildlife that just stirs the blood.
