What is memory? What is photographic memory? Is it a documentary? The photograph fails to reveal or reflect the realities as they were. In fact, all is lost. Photos are feelings. With each picture an attempt is made not to experience existence itself, but to experience its feeling. The photo is sensual, not documentary․ Memories are therefore an attempt to relive the past.
Hier are the reconstructed memories from Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh), especially the city called Shushi. The city itself is a symphony of nature, people, architecture whose voice was so loud I can still hear the drumbeats of that boundless silence. I lived every moment in this city with full concentration, I didn't want to miss anything.
I remember the shades of green, the stones, the heat, the sun, the silence, the white, the wet, the dust, the forest, the echo, the height, the mountains. There is limitless power in these mountains.
I am the memory.
If I remember, then I exist, and if I exist, then the memory also exists.
On September 27, 2020, a war broke out between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh. Shushi has handed over to Azerbaijan.
