ABSTRUCTURE, a compilation between abstract and structure.
Details from every day objects, rendered in an abstract way with things who they are contected with.
A vase shape, illuminated on one side with the structure of a plant that could live in the vase...
A table surrounded by the texture of the wallpaper he is standing next to...
Pieces of furniture brought together with the texture of the carpet on which they stand...
etc... Bringing structures to the attention and reconnecting them in a different way with utensils, nature, etc...
View and highlight the incredible power of detail that we pass by every day, try to give them a new dimension.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
I studied Photography and Advertising at St. Lucas in Ghent, Belgium.
Since 2003, I’ve worked with several international stock agencies, including Getty Images, Imagesource, and Photoalto. I’ve been a self-employed photographer and graphic designer since 2012.
You can view my portfolio here: www.mien.be
For many years, my specialty was children's photography. I developed my own distinctive style, heavily inspired by the 1970s, with an emphasis on carefully crafted, nostalgic settings. I prefer to work with natural daylight, often in self-designed studios like a camper van, a caravan, or a garden house. To enhance the vintage feel, I use clothing from the 60s and 70s, pieces I’ve been collecting since childhood. This creates an environment where children can play and explore freely while I capture their moments. You can see examples of this style at www.mien.be under ‘de klikmobiel’.
After 10 years, it was time for something new.
Lately, I’ve been doing more commercial photography, which varies from studio shoots to interior photography, often with a conceptual approach where I handle the art direction as well.
