I've been photographing landscapes from airplanes for 7 years; this time I flew from The United States to Colombia. It was announced on this flight's route we would encounter an extensive cloud formation of showers on a very sunny Florida day, so I knew I would get interesting hues; I had been experimenting with glass, CD-ROMs and oil recently to photograph beautiful colors.
The same way light goes through prisms and gets split into multiple wavelengths, sunbeams went through varied mediums on this occasion: water particles in the mist, a thick caliber airplane window and my neutral density filter I span mid-capture in slow shutter speeds.
This series is part of a collection called "ASK FOR THE RAW FILE", multiple photography works that look edited or manipulated but are not, challenging what you can do on-camera.
