The Bottle Series is a project that focuses on drawing attention to generally unnoticed objects by photographing discarded glass bottles. There are many things in the world that are ignored. Perhaps this is a side effect of social ideologies, or perhaps it is due to the human tendency to make snap judgements based one surface level observations. If one is to shift their focus and look more closely, they might discover the hidden value and beauty that, once seen, cannot be overlooked a second time.
In this series of photos, I was interested in shooting the many unlabeled and discarded glass bottles that can be found throughout the world and I focused on identifying their aesthetic elements. The main point is this: even that which we overlook or callously discard has its own beautiful colors and pleasing forms if one looks closely.
