The main focus of my photography is to show the viewer the beauty that surrounds us in the day to day life. The beauty that can be revealed in day to day objects if only you look past its physical state.
There is a story behind most of my images including this one.
One summer day I was doing gardening in our backyard. As I was bringing compost to the compost bin I was stung by a wasp that flew out of the bin. It hurt for many days so I stayed away from the compost bin till the fall. When the cold snap came, I decided to empty the compost bin and to my surprise I found this beautifully heart shaped wasp nest.
Before I took the photo I thought about the day a got stung by the wasp. Holding this beautiful heart in my hand I could not help but smile and any pain that was caused by the wasp that day was erased from my mind. I thanked the wasps that made this truly amazing masterpiece and took the shot. Now I am sharing it with the world.

AUTHOR
I am a retired nurse, mom and a photographer. What makes me the happiest is creating from things around me and using the alternative and digital methods together to create something magical. The ideas are sparked by simple objects around the house and yard. One day it's a grape stem another is coffee grounds...toilette paper roll...I want people and especially children to know that you don't have to go far to create art. The world is full of small wonders!
