I turned the wrong way after dropping off my son and had to u-turn in someone's driveway. When my car lights hit this pole, I gasped and paused at the scene and thought, "I should take a picture of this."
And then I thought how weird that was - it's just a pole and some weeds. But something about it kept me there. The movement, those colors, that sky and just the whole midwestern journey feel of it.
That's my favorite thing about being a photographer - being drawn to notice the everyday moments placed in front of me and capturing them. I'm grateful for this gift of seeing.
