Originally from Austria, Michaela is currently based in Berlin, Germany. She is a self-taught photographer focusing on fine art and portrait photography. For her online presence she is mainly known as Lia Niobe.
The over-arching theme of her work is the interaction between humans and nature. What began as surrealistic storytelling grew into a desire to explore the human self in relation to nature. This exploration has continued to raise questions, which she tries to give form to through her images. They are an attempt to envoke reconnection to the soul through stories and connectedness to natural elements.
