Tyrrell (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Lake Tyrrell is a vast expanse of salt water located in north west Victoria, Australia. The Lake changes colour depending on the season, water salinity, weather and time of day. Typically in the dry season it turns a hue of pink - often an intense colour, for which the Lake is most well known. However, this series of abstract images was captured from above in the early autumn when the pinks, greys and blues were much more muted. In particular, the circular viewing platform stands clear of the crystallised dried salt bed of the Lake, creating an almost surreal counterpoint to the Lake's stunning natural beauty.
AUTHOR
Peter Harlow is an aerial abstract photographer, beginning his practice in late 2021. From a viewpoint of less than fifty metres above the surface, nature paints its own abstract images, unique and perfect. These images are constantly changing with the wind, rain and seasons. In this sense, his photographs represent impermanence and fragility. By presenting a different view of the landscape, his intention is to cause you to pause, consider and reflect on the changing and transformative beauty of nature.
