            Beautifully Brutalist (Series)

                DESCRIPTION

Brutalism is a style of architecture which developed from the modernist ideas of the Bauhaus. It was prevalent from the 50s to the late 70s and featured prominently in urban redevelopment and civic projects. It is distinguished by the use of bare materials - usually concrete, and stark imposing design. Whilst it fell out of favour and is perceived negatively by the public, brutalism is now appreciated for its bold and innovative design. My series seeks to interpret brutalist architecture with a new aesthetic and present it as something worthy of value in urban design and living.
