Last November 2023, I journeyed through Riga, Latvia, a city where every corner unveiled its beauty, particularly its striking Art Deco architecture. As if guided by an unseen hand, my solitary walk led me to the Daugava River, where the Akmens Bridge stretched before me, a silent behemoth in the cold winter air. The rain, indifferent to my presence, whispered secrets as it fell.
Traversing the bridge was a journey through a mist of solitude, the world around me obscured by a veil of water and chill. Cars moved in a ceaseless, meaningless parade. And then, unexpectedly, the rain halted, the gloom lifted, and reality itself seemed to warp. The light, surreal and perfect, unveiled the city anew. Buildings like the Dzelzceļa and Vanšu Bridges, and the National Latvian Library stood as monuments to time, their reflections in the river a distorted echo of their grandeur, a mirror to the city's enduring spirit amidst the relentless march of time and change.
This collection captures that instance—a timeless city reflecting its resilience and beauty amidst the ever-changing tides of history.
