Fine Art nominee

"Funktionssysteme" is a Series of analoge photographs and Lithography. By transmitting the photographs to the lithography stone and adding different structures, new compositions are created. The mix of techniques and materials are equivalent to the content. "Funktionssysteme" is about the demolition of borders and at the same time the attempt to maintain spatial order to prevent the feeling of safety. The balance between needing (spatial-, sozial-, natural-) order and the fear of expelling strangeness without reflecting on it is represented by the architectural elements. Walls and fences should be understood as the skin of a body, it encloses and at the same time includes openings, so there is constant exchange and influence between the "Inside" and "Outside". The attempt of total Isolation must fail.

Marie Spellerberg is a master of fine arts student at the Philipps Universität Marburg. She is specialist in photography and installation. Experimenting with materials and techniques is part of her work as well as a conceptual approach.
