Teenage moods (Series)
DESCRIPTION
My daughter is almost 14 and in this last year her behaviour has changed quite noticeably. With this series I wanted to explore the shifting, inexplicable and sometimes obscure nature of teenage moods, from their volatility to their obsessively selective focus, from spitting out hurtful words to the occurrence of disturbing thoughts and the redeeming and uplifting power of music.
Photography is now for me inextricably linked to collage: this is how I like to explore the fragility and uncertainty of human existence, with its baggage of emotional struggles and hidden insecurities and to delve into our common vulnerabilities as well as the difficulties of relationships.

AUTHOR
I have had a love affair with photography for a very long time. It started in the 90s, when everything was still analogue. I used to spend hours in the darkroom, experimenting with all the different papers, just watching the magic happen. Then the advent of digital photography and changes in personal circumstances moved my focus away from photography for a while. When I discovered collage during the pandemic, it was almost a lightbulb moment: I could get my hands dirty again and be inspired to shoot new images to incorporate into my collages.
