DESCRIPTION
This particular photo was taken a couple of weeks ago in the Swiss Alps and the conditions I had were just a matter of luck. However, I had carefully observed in advance that a combination of events would make my luck happen. So I left the house at 11:30 pm, arrived at my destination at 2:30 am and started walking for 3.30 hours in pouring rain. I reached 2200/2300 meters of elevation an hour before dawn and the rain hasn't stopped falling. Unfortunately this place does not allow shelter, and I preferred to wait for dawn in the rain instead of putting myself in more danger. Suddenly, before the blue and golden hour, the rain stopped and I managed with all the determination to take a couple of the best photos I've ever taken. I took so many great photos on the same day that it's hard to choose which one is the best. At the moment I will post this. This image is made up of a single exposure and everything is sharp from back to front.
AUTHOR
When I started doing photography, I had no clue what an incredible journey I had begun. I am now a Landscape photographer because I have always loved discovering new places of untouched wilderness and being connected with Mother Earth. When I explore and immerse myself in pristine lands, I have the “feeling that there is nothing in the world that I would rather be doing and no other place where I would rather be” (Galen Rowell). Memories last forever and taking pictures while exploring gives me the opportunity to experience unique moments and collect special memories.
I try to create fine landscape photography through technical proficiency, personal vision, light and dynamicity (physical action and whether conditions). All these elements have been introduced and described by Mr. Galen Rowell who is one of my main sources of inspiration. Technical proficiency is how to take the picture, personal vision is how I see my subject and how to transmit my vision to viewers. Light helps to add a third dimension to my vision while dynamicity enhances my third dimension to another level. To me, these four elements are the key ingredients for a successful image.
