Enchantments in Merquel (Single)
DESCRIPTION
Photo taken in France on the West Atlantic coast in Mesquer, on the night of 11/11/2022. It represents the point called “Merquel” with its dike and its lighthouse. Built between 1867 and 1920, its construction, and especially the installation of its light, will cause a lot of ink to flow: 53 years passed between the start of construction work and the installation of the light responsible for securing the entrance from the harbor where the boats carrying Mesquer salt anchored. Reputed to be very dangerous by sailors, Victor HUGO even alluded to it in his novel "The Workers of the Sea" without having ever been there. This place is also the territory of my childhood where I like to observe the play of the elements and try to capture a little of their mystery. Here I used the long exposure technique for 1 second.
AUTHOR
French autodidact, born in Guérande in 1971, I started photography at the age of 13. I see photography as an art, halfway between painting and cinematographic atmospheres. For me it is a language, the culmination of a deep inner connection with the surrounding elements, a form of full consciousness.
Through the long exposure technique, I seek an atmosphere, a delicate and subtle harmony, conducive to the imagination, which reflects the fragile and ephemeral side of the moment.
