White nights (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Over the years, I realize that places that were very snowy and cold about ten years ago are becoming more and more temperate and only receive snow more occasionally. At the speed at which warming is taking hold in our regions of southern France, I sometimes have the feeling that this is one of the last winters where I can immortalize these scenes. I hope I'm wrong... For this series, I stood at the foot of the trees to watch the snow fall. All the photos were taken at night, in the middle of winter. Why black and white? At night, our eyes are not able to perceive colors. So I wanted to present this nocturnal world as we see it. Without colour, our eyes are more focused on contrasts, differences in light, shapes. At night, in the middle of winter, the cold, humid air that envelops us is an integral part of the landscape. In fact, it is essential. That's why this series puts it in the spotlight, showing the snow blown away by the wind...
