Here we are in one of my favorite places: Val d'Orcia, a region in Tuscany famous for its breathtaking landscapes. Although I have been there several times, this is the first one photographically.
The photo was taken during our last night here, as my friends and I were there enjoying the spectacle of the Milky Way shining in the night sky.
The total silence around us made the experience even more atmospheric. The cypress trees, with their sleek and symmetrical shapes, almost seemed to point us to look right there on the sky, where the Milky Way stretches out in all its beauty. The image captures the wonder and serenity that can be experienced when observing unspoiled nature in all its splendor.
As Vincent van Gogh said, "When I look at the starry sky, I feel small, but at the same time, part of something big."
