In this series of still life photographs, I use the chair as a central element to evoke feelings of mystery, nostalgia and impermanence. Inspired by early painting, particularly the admirable Dutch still lifes of the 17th century, I attempt to capture the essence of these timeless themes through contemporary photography.
Each image is carefully composed to highlight the chair, creating an atmosphere of contemplation and reflection. The chair, often associated with human presence, becomes a symbol of solitude and the passage of time. It is presented in different environments, with objects that add an extra dimension to the story being told.
I play with light, texture and colour to create images that evoke a certain melancholy and fragile beauty. Each photograph is an invitation to explore the nuances of existence and to meditate on the transience of life.
In presenting this series, I hope to remind us that everything is ephemeral and that even the simplest objects can contain a profound meaning that invites the viewer to reflect on the fleeting nature of life.
