Turning reality into dreams.
The diversity of aesthetic approach and figurative representation of the subject makes surrealist painting a source of inspiration for photography.
This nascent project illustrates the human body in an unusual form. The first creations refer to two works by Rene Magritte: "Torse nu dans les nuages" (1937) and "Magie noire" (1945).

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Self-taught, photography has been a passion since the age of 15, when I acquired my first camera, a Zenith E.
In the early days, learning from a book on "creative photography" shaped my eye.
Whatever the subject, my eye remains sensitive to original framing, graphic shapes, saturated colours and high contrasts.
I've always photographed traditional subjects such as landscapes, architecture and nudes. But my attraction for art, painting and sculpture, is at the origin of the two projects presented.
For the current project, "Surrealist body", I've taken up a new photographic practice, making photomontages in Photoshop. These are made (without AI) from digitised personal slides.
This new practice opens up an infinite space for creativity. As with surrealist painting, these photomontages satisfy my desire to transform reality into the imaginary without the constraints of reason.
Several images have already been selected for group exhibitions and won awards in various competitions, see pierreaucher.com for details.
