Marina survived a fire when she was just 2 years old. The burns covered over 65% of her body, and she spent months in a coma, battling infections, teetering on the brink of life and death for a year.
However, her mother, who was only 20 at the time, brought her to the United States, where surgeons were able to save her. Since then, Marina has undergone over 60 surgeries.
Marina grew up in the United States, where she found true friends and met her beloved.
Another person in her place might have harbored resentment toward life, but Marina, on the contrary, loves life. She rejoices, plays the violin, rides her own horses, takes care of 8 cats, 4 dogs, and a turtle, all of which she adopted from a shelter, and works. Most importantly, she loves herself, cherishing every scar and every imperfection of her being. She truly embraces life!
