Sticks & Stones (Single)
DESCRIPTION
Since I was a little girl I’ve been harmed for being female. When I offered my thoughts I was called “bossy”, “loud” or “opinionated”. If I enjoyed sex I was a “ho” or “slag”, if I didn’t want sex I was “frigid”. I was sexually objectified and treated like a piece of meat from the age of 9 when I was first molested. To demean me, I was called dehumanizing language like “cow” (female cattle) or “bitch” (female dog). And just when women had achieved their own legal rights, males calling themselves females sought to claim those rights for themselves. When I objected, I was called “cis” making me a subset of my own sex which now included males, or slurred as a Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist. I’m now in my 50s and I’m still fighting for safety, privacy and dignity, and to be treated as equal, but distinct and different, to men.
