This is a portrait of friend Chase Reyes from my series of high detail portraits black and white portraits. These were done at f22 to show each hair and every detail of the face. Lastly, each was made to be black and white to intensify the drama of the subject caught in thought.
I created this effect because I wanted these to feel intimate with a sense of vulnerability. Showing every detail of the face is quite revealing. Then, when your looking deeper at the subject you begin to ask; "What is the subject thinking?" It's as if you caught them mid thought and you take a moment to acknowledge their beauty.
