The Ghost Cliff (Single)
DESCRIPTION
The basalt cliffs of Ribeira da Janela rise from the sea off the northeast coast of Madeira. Before a trip, every photographer probably has images in their head that they would like to realize. Of course, the conditions also have to be taken into account, especially for outdoor photography. I was lucky enough to realize my idea. In the beautiful sunset, the waves crashed onto the coast of Ribeira. With the help of a tripod and a gray filter for longer exposure, I was able to extend the exposure time to 180 seconds, with the desired effect that the spray flows like fog around the rough boulders. The rugged cliffs rise from the smooth sea. My wish came true and was a highlight of the trip.
AUTHOR
I started with photography on my long-distance trips lasting several weeks. At that time I still used an analogue SLR camera and slide films.
With digital cameras, a new era dawned for me too.
During a long time, in which my health was very limited, I had a lot of time to deal intensively with photography.
I've read a lot about it and kept trying new techniques, true to the motto
" Nothing ventured nothing gained " !
I have always been very close to nature, both professionally and in my free time. My focus is on landscape and nature photography. But I'm always open to new things.
That's how I fell in love with abstract and fine art photography. Even if this is of course a matter of taste.
Even though I have been taking photographs for a long time, I have only just started submitting pictures to photo competitions. I am therefore very happy about initial successes in:
Tokyo Int. Foto Awards
Budapest Foto Awards
International Photography Awards
New York Photography Awards
Fine Art Photography Awards
ND Awards
