Street Photography nominee

This series of images encompasses street photos of Kuala Lumpur when the city was about to enter the endemic phase of Covid-19, from early 2022 right up to first quarter of 2023. They are shots of the city’s daily life after pandemic lockdowns. Images of people donning face masks would set this period apart for years to come. Often we will never appreciate the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. These images were mainly shot through glasses and/or reflections as my interpretation in denoting a sense of distance, a quiet desire to put this period of our times as a distant past rather than a lived reality.

This series was shortlisted for ExposurePlus Photo Festival that was exhibited in Kuala Lumpur between September 21st and October 1st 2023.

Sinsee Ho is an award winning photographer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is an active contributor to top stock media agencies. When not shooting for stock, she indulges in street photography, discovering joy in the surprises and interpretations from everyday occurrences in the name of finding poetry in the ordinary.
