These images depict the interplay between man's effort to tame the desert and the desert's persistence. In the early 1900's the town of Kolmonskop was founded with the discovery of diamonds in the area and was abandoned a few years later. The desert has overtaken what was once a thriving outpost. The Namib desert is so dry the paint and wall decorations remain much as they were almost 100 years ago.
