Inhumanity (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Ask a hundred people what being human means to them, and you'll get a hundred different answers. Is morality, thought, individuality, the ability to feel or grasp the abstract, the exclusive prerogative of our species? Is a behavior deemed human merely the opposite of that of an animal? Or can an animal also be considered human?
Here are gazes captured from our planet's other inhabitants, whether furry or feathered. Each of these animals directs its attention towards a human being. In these eyes, one cannot help but project human reactions and emotions, sometimes rightly and sometimes mistakenly.
The series "Inhumanity?" invites us to seek the human and the non-human in these portraits that scrutinize us.
This series is a tribute to "non-human" individuals living alongside us. It provides an opportunity to encounter personalities beyond the species.
Look at them and ask yourself... "who are they?" "what are their fears and joys?"
The "Inhumanity?" series features individuals inhabiting zoos, living in our homes, or existing in natural environments. But regardless of their living environment, their colors, or the texture of their fur, only their individuality matters!
AUTHOR
Veterinarian, Ethologist, PhD in animal physiology
Since childhood, the relationship between animals and humans has been a real source of questions and inspiration, which gradually led me to the veterinary world and then to ethology.
What is the boundary between humans and animals? Do humans and animals ultimately have more in common than they have differences?
Faced with the ever-increasing media coverage of animals, I decided to take a closer look at the way humans view animals.
I'm currently associate professor in animal behavior and welfare in a french veterinarian school.
