These are actually two male Rat Snakes who are in combat for dominance, to prove who is the strongest of the pack. While no mating is involved, the two snakes perform the 'dance' by wrapping around each other and raising their upper bodies in an attempt to subdue each other. I struggled to get these into the frame because these are wrapping and danced very fast. Many time I missed focus and finally got it. The interesting thing is Yellowish colour tone, Catch light and snakes dance gives more drama to this image.
I had a frame in my mind before taking this picture. I like to shoot in backlit and I tried to shoot this photo in the same way. I tried to get the blurred background as close as possible and at a low angle. At the same time, my movement was in such a way as not to disturb them. Creating a best composition is the tough part on that field. Finally I found a sweet spot in the background and nailed this shot. After I shoot this image and see the back LCD I'm so happy because this is one of my dream shot.
