The edifice has been reduced to its absolute essential a convergence of vertical and curved lines in repetition. The peaceful curved lines frame the photo in contrast to the dynamic vertical lines energising the image. Both the curved and vertical lines culminate in a naive and abstracted outline of a head turned towards the light giving a sense of expectation, hope and peace.
When taking the photo I spot metered in order to dramatically light the subject creating striking contrasts in camera. In keeping with the minimal composition the post processing was done in black and white further abstracting the subject, focusing on the shape and form of the edifice and the way in which it was lit.

AUTHOR
I am a professional photographer working mostly in black & white. My style ranges from, fine art architecture, fine art street to moody landscapes. The simplicity of monochromatic imagery, the rich, deep and detailed blacks coupled with crisp whites and all the tones in between, for me makes mundane, marvellous. I often use long exposures & enjoy working in low light creating low-key images which I find are more emotive.
