Among the indigenous peoples of the North, products made from forbs have been used for thousands of years in their traditional way of life.
Weaving as a craft arose earlier than pottery, metal and woodworking. It has its roots in the Stone Age. The Khanty and Mansi created grass carpets from willow twigs, lake and marsh grasses, rush, cattail, sedge, reeds and reeds. Grass sheets were used to insulate sleeping areas from moisture and cold. Swamp grasses were used to make tools for fishing, hunting and gathering. The Ob Ugrians wove patterns on grass carpets - patterns of simple and geometric shapes: squares, rhombuses, triangles. To date, many ornamented paintings have been lost.
Exploring life, everyday life, the philosophy of weaving and original materials, I try to get in touch with what the world will never see.
