"No Man's Land" try to challenge the way photographers and the public view photography. The images looks closer to paintings than photographs, but the process behind them are similar to a documentary photographer. All these images have been photographed outside studio setting in Norway and they are motives available for everyone who can see them. A detail from a dustbin, rust on a post, a tractor wheel or a container is transformed into shapes, light and colors on a framed surface and transformed into references we can recognise from nature and motifs we have seen in the art of painting.
All the works have a title that describes what the original motif is. The purpose of this is, among other things, to illustrate that it is not about what is photographed, but what subjective experiences the unique viewer has. In addition, it can open people's eyes to the beauty in front of them and show a kind of appreciation for the everyday. This project plays on the paradoxes and contradictions of the philosophy surrounding photography, where the subconscious art and the perspective of truth work together and create something new and different.
