For "Disguise" project inspired by René Magritte's artwork, I chose to focus on the idea of "identity" using monochrome inversions.
Identity is easy to define when we pretend that labels are satisfactory, when we ignore its ineffability, when we forcefully try to capture in words what cannot be captured in words.
Like identity, the rose seems to be endlessly layered.
What initially appears as a whole is actually made up of so many petals that you can't get to the bottom even with the most careful look.
Somewhere in the vortex of the rose lies the essence of each man's identity.
