I Dont Care (Series)
DESCRIPTION
I passed many beautiful landscapes on my 4400km bicycle trip from Berlin to Marseille. I would have loved to photograph someone in these surroundings, but i was alone.
Photographing myself in cycling clothing felt like just documenting the trip. So i decided to not wear clothes at all. It felt wierd to be naked. but overcoming this feeling is kind of a freeing process. I was alone in nature and without any awareness of society structures, it would be the most normal thing in the world.
When I selected the images at the end of the trip, I doubted if people would see somebody who tries to move instead of pose in front of the camera. i doubted if the series could just look like a strange nudist showing pictures of himself being naked. The anxiety of the question “why have i done this?”
In the end, i figured, exactly that fear of being judged could be the point of this series. I think so much about how the others see me that i barely allow myself to see who i am.
That`s why i decided to not give a fuck!
This could be me, and I don`t care.
AUTHOR
David Dollmann is constantly on the move, searching. By taking pictures,
time stops. He likes to listen and ask questions.
His desire to transform every situation into images that tell a story makes
him at times a composer of a moment, and at other times a silent observer.
Sometimes the results are flashy and colorful, at other times they are radical
and raw. But always authentic and honest.
Thats it, that’s all he wants.
