DESCRIPTION
I use techniques of product photography to represent the body in an abstracted way. The figure dressed in socially clearly connoted latex is not sexualized, but shows an inner turmoil and thus challenges existing norms and opinions.
AUTHOR
I am a photographer based in Switzerland, with a strong interest in experimental photography and liminal or non-spaces. I graduated from the Zurich University of Arts with a bachelor’s degree in scenographical design. I then pursued a master’s degree in cultural studies at the University of Bern. I use photography as a tool to challenge the conventional notions of reality and perception.
Having started with analog photography, I am fascinated by the fact that you don’t get to see a result immediately and that “happy accidents” can open up new possibilities to explore. Because of that I tend to turn to older and unusual techniques to replicate this experience in the digital age. My goal is to invite the viewers to question their own perceptions and assumptions.
Winner: “Highest Scoring Film Capture“, 2022 Epson Pano Awards
