Ondina (Series)
DESCRIPTION
"The waves, youth, falling in love... the storm and death."
The musical instrument in Ondina's theme represents the movement and melody of the waves, while the seahorse is the symbol of the story, this is because according to the myths, the sea nymphs rode in the depths of the ocean, a symbol of the unconscious.
The abyss represents the unconscious, so the seahorse symbolizes the medium by which it is explored.
By capturing the mysterious essence of the ocean and the sea, I have tried to give visual form to the union between Ondina and the unconscious. Like the waves crashing on the shore, Ondina embodies the primordial force of nature. I tried to explore the deep link between the mythological figure, his place of belonging, and our inner world, where emotions, dreams, fears and desires intertwine like fluid waves. With this I want to underline how the roots of mythology go deep into humanity, still influencing our understanding of the invisible and mystery today.
I've always loved stories about nymphs and sirens, what the sea has always kept and hidden spurs and inspires my mind to research and makes my soul vibrate.

Elisa Scascitelli was born in Italy in 1989.
She is a creative and visionary Artist in Fine Art and Fairytales Photography.
But she just loves calling herself a Fantastic Worlds Explorer.
Exploration, nature, forests, mystery, the continuous questions without answer, the "you don't know" those are sources of inspiration that persistently leak in her artworks.
Labyrinthine nature of the artist is intertwined with the arcane, with the dreamlike and mythological symbolism, mixing like color on a painter's canvas.
