Conversations with My Father" is an introspective fine art photography project, born from the archive left by my late parents. Over a month I scanned over ten thousand negatives, laying the foundation for this deeply emotional exploration.
This project delves into the poignant journey of natural memory loss that accompanies our grieving process. It sheds light on the fleeting images within our mind's eye, too ephemeral to grasp—a unique facet of our sorrow: the grief of memory itself, our sole link to keeping our loved ones alive.
"Conversations with My Father" seeks to reveal the organic aspects of memory attrition, prompting discussions about the multifaceted nature of grief. It serves as a reminder that we have no choice in what we remember.
The project is an homage to my parents' memory and a canvas for contemplation, empathy, and respect—a testament to the universal experience of memory's delicate dance in the theater of grief.
