This photo symbolizes the importance of the leap of faith, that jump into the new and the different that we often have to take. It generates a lot of uncertainty and fear, but it´s crucial for personal growth. I think that venturing into the unfamiliar, into the new, is the only way to get the things that we want, and this photo aims to capture that reflection visually.
I wanted to capture the precise moment of the olympic dive from a low perspective, creating a low light and blueish atmosphere, in which what stands out primarily is the monumentality of the diving platform's height and the character in the midst of the jump.
I made this Fine Art proyect at the Benito Juarez Olympic Pool, in Mexico City. I used digital medium format, and lighted the whole pool with cinematic lightning.
