DESCRIPTION
We want to hold on to the party, knowing the music has long stopped and we have passed the zenith. This is how the world feels right now. A colorful farce that is crumbling under my feet. In 2023 I focused on these studies of isolation, woven deep into Berlins subculture, creating a universe of escalated parties while bringing them to a halt. All in search of a feeling that I recently notice all around me: The inability to be present without being overly self-conscious. Where it is no longer appropriate to enjoy life. It resembles a deep cry of seeing the good days long gone, or how I would say: “Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei.” (The fat days are behind us).
These are staged scenes, lightpainted into the dark moments of life. The slow process and long exposures let me sit with my protagonists in a moment of stillness.
AUTHOR
Lara Wilde dances in her projects between the themes of raw human emotions and the complexity of the outside world. As a photographer and psychologist she is interested in what moves us as humanity on an individual level. Besides an intensive involvement with her protagonists, she stands for technical perfection in the execution, which has earned her several awards.
