In 2020 Covid 19 forced us to come With new ways of photography.
I started to connect with people via FaceTime and photographed them. I photographed the monitor in front of me with my digital camera.( attached pictures 2020). The quality of the pictures was low but it fit right in in the uncertainty and imperfections of these very difficult time. This way of photographing was completely pulling me in and I could not stop thinking about it. The absence of the person in the room but the closeness I could feel trough the lens / computer was a strong feeling.
In 2022 I started photographing for the outside in project again and this time with help of the clos app which allows me to use the subjects phone camera and therefore quality of the pictures does not depend on the internet connection.
Many question cross my mind when I am in a shoot.
The things that come so natural like moving with the legs, turning around, having a bigger perspective comes down to a viewfinder of a phone in a place far away from me.
I am asking myself if the subject feels less intruded and if the intimacy
