This series is an ongoing work exploring the relationship of us humans with nature and our environment. How we are made from the same material, inseparable. How we take our own breath away, when everything starts to dry up. How we become fragmented, when we don't feel the wind, the sun, the rain, the earth on our skin.
It's about what the world offers us and what we offer it in return - with our being, with our responsibilities, with our care, attention and purpose.

Originally from Austria, Michaela is currently based in Berlin, Germany. She is a self-taught photographer focusing on fine art and portrait photography. For her online presence she is mainly known as Lia Niobe.
The over-arching theme of her work is the interaction between humans and nature. What began as surrealistic storytelling grew into a desire to explore the human self in relation to nature. This exploration has continued to raise questions, which she tries to give form to through her images. They are an attempt to envoke reconnection to the soul through stories and connectedness to natural elements.
Her images have been exhibited in Austria, Finland and Germany.
