A good photograph is a detail that represents a whole process. It is the same with aquagraphy. The moment I capture with the camera is irretrievable. The constant changes in the interplay of the separate elements of nature combine to give birth to new, irretrievable works of art with every blink of the eye, which is so fleeting that each unique split second of an image could never be grasped by the naked eye. At the very moment of their creation they are already a thing of the past, a memory never to be repeated. I am freezing them as still images and thus making them visible.
I see this in the tradition of Eadweard Muybridge. He proved in a series of photographs in 1872 that a galloping horse actually has all four legs in the air at times. The human eye is too sluggish to be able to follow this sequence. It only became visible through photography. This is also true of aquagraphy. It captures the beauty of the moment that passes too quickly for the human eye.
Each of these constellations is irretrievable and has already passed away at the moment of its creation.
