The Amazon Tree Boa, also known as the Garden or Slender Tree Boa or scientifically as Corallus hortulanus, is a species of boa native to South America. It belongs to the Boidae family and is found in a variety of habitats, including rainforests, tropical dry forests, and savannas.
The Amazon Tree Boa is known for its remarkable color diversity. Indeed, the color palette of this species is so varied that it's considered one of the most colorfully diverse boa species. The patterns vary widely, but typically, the snakes are adorned with dark spots against a lighter background. Colors can include gray, brown, green, yellow, red, orange, black, and any mixture thereof. This contributes to their excellent camouflage capabilities across various environments.
During several tours in the Amazon Rainforest in different countries in South America I found many Amazon Tree Boas with different colorations.
1. "Monochrome Majesty: The Grey Amazon Tree Boa"
2. "A Fiery Display: The Red Amazon Tree Boa with Black Triangles"
3. "A Starry Night: The Dark Grey Amazon Tree Boa with Black and Red Spots"
4. "Basking in Sunshine: The Vibrant Orange Amazon Tree Boa"
5. "Sunburst Serpent: The Yellow Amazon Tree Boa"
