Abstract nominee

I was captivated by the flight of insects as I took these photos in the summer. They moved through the air as if dancing, tracing mesmerizing patterns. It felt as though they were creating their own kind of alchemy.
To recreate the feeling I had that night, I mirrored the images, transforming them into abstract compositions that serve as a reminder of the wonder in the world around us.

Viktor Barkhatov was born in 1990 in the USSR, into a family with an engineer father who was passionate about photography. This passion was passed down to Viktor from an early age, starting with film photography and later transitioning to digital photography. The magic of images truly captivated Viktor, and he went on to study cinematography and photography in college. Like many photographers, Viktor began with landscape photography and portraits of friends, eventually spending more time searching for his own style. He now lives in Cambridge, UK, and is engaged in photography.
