A society that values uniformity, where everyone is expected to think the same—that’s how I see Korean society. To me, Seoul is a microcosm of this. Even the buildings reflect this, with uniformity prioritized over individuality. I don't think this is necessarily bad; the city is well-organized and clean. It’s just what Seoul is, and this is its character.
These are my thoughts while photographing buildings in Seoul. I found that capturing them in a more flat, two-dimensional way felt truer to the essence of the city. While I didn't find the same architectural individuality I’ve seen in other countries, Seoul’s sense of order and organization stands out. It's a beautiful city, and its clean, structured appearance is something I haven't seen anywhere else.
