My "Face Off" series delves into the identities of urban dwellers within contemporary cities. This work meticulously disassembles and reassembles architectural elements—much like assembling a model kit—to create a novel spatial form. The essence of this endeavor lies in the unique characteristics of these elements being recombined to form a surreal urban landscape. The title "Face Off" carries a dual significance.
Firstly, it represents the tension arising at the intersection of the city and its inhabitants. Secondly, it catalyzes exploring how an individual's identity transforms through interactions with the external world. As we navigate our respective cities, we confront the city's visage, often discovering and, at times, losing our own identities within it. Through this work, I aim to illuminate the complexities and chaos inherent in modern urban life, alongside the human experience within it.
"Face Off" transcends mere visual juxtaposition; dismantling and reconstructing buildings evokes feelings of isolation and alienation that urban dwellers experience while fostering solidarity. As the facades of buildings are stripped away, hidden truths and emotions emerge, offering urban inhabitants a fresh perspective.
