Jo or Joanne is a Transgender Butoh dancer trying to find who she/he really is through art.
Butoh is an avant-garde art form which began in Japan in the 1950's, influenced by surrealism, neo dada, French mime techniques, ballet, flamenco, Neue Tanz (German Expressionist dance) as well as French and European literature.
Through dancing and emerging her/himself into other dimensions. The image in the mirror is not decisive. She/he cannot figure out who she/he is.
The Butoh state of trans allows her/him to dive deep into her/his soul and finally find peace of mind in the knowledge that what is important is to be true to yourself...whoever you are.
