DUNES (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Dune as a metaphor for the desertification of the state of mind of human
beings due to a society overwhelmed by new technologies and responsible
for social isolation. Many young people experience a sense of isolation and
alienation, human relationships have become superficial and virtual, leading
to a lack of authentic connection with others and the phenomenon of
hikikomori.
AUTHOR
Francesco Pace Rizzi, I live and work in Italy between Rome, Matera, Potenza. I have been involved in photography for over 25 years, experimenting with various genres both with analog and digital systems, in particular: architecture, conceptual, portrait, street both in color and black and white. I prefer a minimal style and I work preferably on medium-long term projects that explore various themes and contexts. Many of my images have been published in various magazines, both paper and digital: Dodho Magazine, AAP Magazine, StreetPhoto Magazine, F-Stop, Sony World Photography Awards. The Italian Federation of Photographic Associations awarded me the AFI Honor, Artist of Italian Photography in 2023. I have participated in over 200 international exhibition contests receiving awards and recognitions. In particular, winner Bifa 2021, 2024 and Tifa 2024. The Creative category winner at the Urban Photo Awards 2020, judged by Alex Webb. 1st Place Discovery of the Year in the Conceptual category at the Chromatic Photography Awards 2019. The series "PresenzAssenza" was exhibited at the Siena Awards Exhibitions PhotoFestival “Chiusdino Creative” in the historic center of Chiusdino from September 30 to November 19, 2023.
