Through this series I invite you to reflect on the role of women in family dynamics, which although it is associated with dedication and affection, conceals a profound need for freedom.
Gender inequality plays a crucial role in this context. Women are expected to assume most household chores, along with those of caring for children, generating a disproportionate burden of responsibilities that leaves them without time or resources to dedicate to their education or professional careers.
Is the great wife the one who perpetuates the classic image of the housewife or the one who manages to separate herself from that role?
About my work:
I am currently studying photography after being a stay-at-home mom for ten years. This work arose in a class on introspective photography directed by Beatriz Martinez Barrio. I took these photographs with an iPhone 14 Pro. No artificial intelligence was used. My son helped me throw the objects into the sky. I have done some retouching in Lightroom for framing and color adjustments.
